Singer

Barry Skipsey is an Australian Singer-Songwriter-Photographer, based in the iconic outback town of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. Working in the tourism arena, Musically, Barry has entertained visitors to Central Australia for the better part of four decades. His song, “You’ll Never, Never Know, if You Never, Never Go” , written to accompany the successful Tourism Campaign of the 90’s, became the Territories Unofficial Anthem. The lyrics in many of his songs speak to those who live past the city limits and portray the colour and character of this diverse Island Nation. As a father (now Grandfather) his songs of Life, Love and Family are thought provoking. They’ll take you on a nostalgic, often humorous journey, and move you.

Photographer

At the same time Barry worked as a Professional Photographer. Photographically, his particular style of capturing the NT was much sort after by Government Departments, the Tourism & Corporate Worlds and many Nationwide Media Groups. Now however, this Commercial Photographer finds himself hanging up his Photographic Gear and concentrating on his Music Career. Having said that, he remains proud of his 25 Year association as an Australian Geographic Photographer. The readers of the prestigious Magazine voted Barry as their ‘Photographer Of the Year’, in 1994. As this new Website evolves, there will be Photographic offerings along with the ability to purchase his Music. If you care to like his Facebook Page, these will be announced in due course. SKIP
